learning to chip away

There's so much I want to do lately. I'm really excited about the projects I've been working on, but it has been difficult to find time to do them -- including blogging.

Originally, I thought it had to do with having a project-heavy semester, but that's had the opposite effect; I find myself feeling more inspired than ever! I've never been the type of person who does things little by little, this is all so new to me.

In "We Need Your Art", Aimee McNee talks about 'bare maximums':

"The optimal amount of work for you to do in a day is usually quite less than you are capable of doing if you went all out."

It makes a lot of sense, but the term 'bare maximums' just clicked. I'm trying this right now and it has been slow going. Even slower than I thought, which leads me to thinking I'm going in the right direction. I'm trying to pad myself with as much rest as possible to prevent burnout. I want doing what I love to be as rejuvenating and enjoyable as possible.
